- The Electronic
Tools Task Force is a forum of pan-European government representatives
and experts, and international and non-governmental organisations. It
was founded in July 2001 under the auspices of the UNECE Convention
on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-making and
Access to Justice in Environmental Matters.

- The Internet Initiative
for Africa is a regional project designed and formulated to assist 10
- 15 Sub-Saharan African countries in their efforts to: Establish or
enhance their national Internet infrastructure and services as a means
of strengthening economic and social development. Use the Internet as
a major means of obtaining reliable and up-to-date information for decision
making on national policy and strategy on sustainable human development.
Build a national information society that will aggressively utilize
information technology to promote development in all sectors. Establishment
of sub-regional and regional Internet infrastructures and facilities.
Establish an enabling environment for investments in and sustainability
of Internet infrastructure and value-added services, through sound policies
and regulations.

- The ongoing "Internet Revolution",
which started around 1994, is dramatically changing not only the internal
socio-economic and political structures of most nations, but also the
way in which they relate to each other. The process of "globalization"
has also been fostered and accelerated by the rapid expansion of the
Internet and the extensive use of Information Technologies (IT) in the
production, distribution and consumption of goods and services.
- SIDSnet:
Small Island Developing States Network
- The Small Island Developing
States Network (SIDSnet) was initiated in 1997 as a follow up to the
Barbados Programme of Action of 1994. It was recognised that all islands
share common issues. SIDSnet was initiated by UNDP/SDNP and the Alliance
of Small Island States (AOSIS).

Sustainable Development Reference Link
- The site is designed
to provide links to some of the most useful sites on the World Wide
Web, including sites which provide software for sectoral management,
economic models, data or references. The site is updated regularly.
At the last update there were more than 3,300 unique annotated links
in the main part of the site which in turn are linked to thousands of
other sites.

and not-for-profit organizations. Partner organizations are committed
to sharing information, experiences and resources to promote broad access
